Mad World - Opinions?

UGHH. School project - song response. I so wanted this to be good, but it just looks gaudy and busy and childish and awful. It's my first attempt with watercolors, which I love, but overall . . . AARGH. Also used ink, Sharpies () and acrylics.

And I have no idea how to fix it after spending so much time on it.

I could have done so many different pieces with it. But being the brilliant person that I am, I decided NOT to go with a representation of the already beautiful images presented in the lyrics and instead create my own "images" . . . a carousel and ferris wheel. Surely that would be a good idea because I could convey the depth of the emotion through the horses "expressions." And whatnot. Obviously, it didn't work out. I disgust myself. Give me your opinions. Here are the wonderful lyrics:
