Words cannot describe how addicted I am to his music.
And he's just a hilarious, brilliant person.

As for the drawing, it took a longer time than anything else because I couldn't get the face proportions decent for . . . weeks. It was ridiculous. For me, it is SO difficult to get simple proportions right (and I never ultimately get there anyway) . . . when in theory, it shouldn't be. Anyone have an explanation for this? I may be wrong, but I think I sometimes think a little TOO mathematically about proportions and shapes instead of focusing on capturing the essence of a person.

I think Matt strongly resembles Christian Bale from certain angles. Like in the reference, for example. Nice. Also Keir Dullea who plays Dave Bowman in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Ironically, I listened to a lot of Radiohead while I did this, hehe.

And I would really like to do portraits of Dominic Howard (drummer) and Chris Wolstenholme (bassist) of Muse as well. Such an amazing band. And I want to illustrate a few of their songs - Supermassive Black Hole in the near future.

Oh yeah, and this reference is from a Google image search, but there is a user on here who has the most absolutely AMAZING photographs of Matt I've ever seen. I begged for permission to use them, but I was so excited about starting on a Matt portrait that I went ahead and did this one. By the time I received permission, I obsessively wanted to finish what I started. So.
Anyway, I'm going to rant about their gallery anyway. Take a look.

I definitely plan on putting that shameless begging to use with more Matthew portraits.
