No references used. Yay. It started off as just an exercise since it's my first true attempt at using soft pastels . . . since that horrible Empire of the Sun poster in my scraps.
And then I started doing the background, etc. It was so much fun as I was outside working on it all morning just because I felt like trying pastels. I had no idea I would complete anything more than doodles. It was a beautiful day. And I was watching my cat get attacked by two birds trying to protect their nests. No one got hurt, but it was so funny and fascinating!
So the drawing's theme (if such a thing exists) is a good illustration of my morning. I wasn't going for a specific pattern. It just happened. If I would do the same thing again, I would change a LOT, but oh well. At least I got pastel practice.
This is my second entry in 's eye contest. I didn't plan on having another, but it happened.
Here is my first entry: [link] And in it's original form: [link]
I am also entering it 's Eye Aching Beauty contest.
Next. Possibly continuing my promised portraits, but after having fun on this I don't feel like going back to portraits. But I will get Muse and Angelina Jolie finished, at least.
