A Lie, I Want it to Be True

Description

I know it's a lie, I want it to be true.
The rest of the ride is riding on you.

Also inspired by the expectations/reality montage from 500 Days of Summer.

Wanted to do something very expressive and, as usual, latched onto a personally compelling song lyric (these become my obsessions). And I am more satisfied with my art because I feel like it is fulfilling my newly adopted definition of 'art.' Which is another story. But now I'm actually considering pursuing art as more than a hobby . . . whatever that means. It has begun to mean more to me than anything (that includes literary and film arts).

Funny how I'm so excited about the new expressive stuff, but most people get bored with it and go back to talking about the more technically skilled graphite portraits. This doesn't matter to me anymore because I'm more confident about my artistic decisions. :)

Lyrics to Collect Call by Metric

If the fire's out baby
How you gonna keep me warm
Supposing you let me
With the door wide open no one can leave

I know it's a lie I want it to be true
The rest of the ride is riding on you
Over goodbyes we'll buy some place

For wishing you could
Keep me closer
I'm a lazy dancer
When you move I move with you

If somebody's got soul
You gotta make them move
Make them move

Oh, this is very interesting! The bright colours of the globe are a nice contrast to the darker things outside of it.

I really do like the new, more expressive art you make :) Maybe these comments just come from people who are more into the technical art than into the expressive side? I don't know, but I bet there are as many people out there who like this as there are people who like your graphite portraits :)
